Charred Brothers

Material: Oak
Finish: Yakisugi and linseed oil
Dimensions: 22x6, 18x6 cm

The Charred Brothers are a couple of bottles in which we first experimented with the Japanese Yakisugi technique.

The first aim in this project was to develop two objects that were communicating between themselves through proportions, created by the reiteration of the square based on diameter. The lower part, finished in linseed oil, is the main module that is repeated and transformed in the top half. This last part is burned to create a black protective layer on wood, the Yakisugi technique.
